Review For The Da Vinci Code

The book The Da Vinci Code is written by Dan Brown. The book was first published in 2003. Although the book initially did not attract too much attention, it went on to become a best seller because of the topic it deals with it. By 2009, the book had sold more than 80 million copies worldwide, and it had been translated into 44 different languages.

The Da Vinci Code is well written and a fast paced book about Jesus Christ and his so-called relationship with Mary Magdalene. As a result, the book is banned by the Vatican.

The story starts with the murder of the chief curator of Louvre, who body is laid out in the famous position of the Vitruvian Man. However, the curator, Jacques Sauniere, uses his blood and black light ink to write a cipher down. Robert Langdon, the famous American symbologist, is called by the French police to the Louvre to figure out what the curator was trying to tell through this.

Then enters Sophie Neveu, who is a French cryptographer.  Sophie claims to have cracked the cipher and informs the police that it nothing but the Fibonacci sequence and therefore, inconsequential. In the meantime, Neveu convinces Langdon that he is a suspect and they both escape from the Louvre not before figuring out the clue left behind by Jacques Sauniere.

However, the answer to the clue is another mystery which takes Langdon and Neveu to Sir Leigh Teabing's home near Versailles and then onwards to London and Scotland.

The book has been extensively researched by Brown, although many historical and theological experts do not agree with his point of view, which they say is inaccurate depiction of Christianity and Jesus Christ. Nonetheless, the book is fast-paced full of mysteries regarding a secret sect, pagan rituals, religious history and brain teasers.
