Book Review On The Tale Of Peter Rabit

The Tale of Peter Rabbit was initially published in 1902. By 1903, the book, an illustrated children's story, had ended up selling 50,000 copies. It is considered to be the best known book written by Beatrix Potter.

The story is about Peter, an anthropomorphic rabbit, who is very disobedient, and does not listen to his mother. After being warned about going to Mr. McGregor's garden where Peter's father ended up becoming a pie, Peter still decides to go to eat the juicy and delicious vegetables growing in the garden.

The Tale of Peter Rabbit then goes on to tell the tiny readers how Peter gets caught and then manages to escape the clutches of Mr. McGregor and his cat, but not before losing his shoes and his jacket.

Although the story is simple, it is highly endearing. And, the illustrations are beautifully done. Some parents find the book to be too violent for children because of the way Peter is chased around the garden by Mr. McGregor and the fact there is a mention about Peter's father being made a part of a pie. However, what parents should understand that the book was first published in 1902, and has been written by Beatrix Potter using the point of view prevalent then.

The book is wonderful for children, who will love the story and will adore the illustrations. It is one book that all children should take time to read, and the way it is written and illustrated, The Tale of Peter Rabbit will be a book that your child will ask you to read over and over again. Although it is a children's book, it is full of suspense and intrigue.
